I like the colours you have been using lately as well as the subject matter, the street scenes.

Thank you Gudrun. You are kind. I'm not sure why I set myself these challenges. Here it was a case of could I just use limited colours, simplify the scene and place the shapes of the buildings quickly to create a pleasing composition? Not this time, but I'm not one to give up. It's in my head but not on the paper . LOL.

Loose or not, you get everything in the right place and looking good Louise.

Lovely and lively. I do like the pink trees which echo the colours of the buildings - a nice touch.

I agree with Gudrun re the palette you are using these days, again great marks and washes.

Many thanks Carole, Thea and Fiona!

I like this, Louise, I like the carefree way it's painted, especially the upstairs windows on the left. I generally enjoy seeing people's sketches almost more than more finished work, and I find it inspiring too - I'm quite a careful and self critical painter (..probably not that unusual...) and I like the sense of not-caring-too-much in this (in a good way!).

Thank you Caroline. It was rather painted in a carefree way! Like you, I always enjoy seeing other's sketches, they seem more personal somehow than finished 'proper' paintings. This has it's faults, but it's me and how I felt at the time of painting. It can be fun to just give yourself half an hour with a paint brush, no pencil or eraser, and see where it takes you. Obviously it doesn't always work!!

I LOVE loose stuff like this. Minimalist, splendorly clash of colors and lines!

Well, thank you Rob!

I love this one Louise, especially the window in the upper left. The two cars in the foreground are also fantastic - I love how you have painted the wheels. Wheely good :-)

Minimalist but of great effect! Michelle

Love the lively and sunlit feel of the scene, Louise! Very nicely done!

Not sure about this quick watercolour but I'm trying to simplify the scene. Three colours used, red, yellow and blue.
