M/C Street by Louise Naimian

Almost abstract and great sense of regression

I like this Louise, simple but effective. I wish I could paint in this loose style but I always get bogged down with detail!

I like this very much Louise! The gouache makes the painting look softer and the street a very inviting place to be.

I really like this and would echo Michael's comment. Also, if I may barge on to your posting - I have posted the following on my Cottage effort: "Fiona and Louise. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to comment on this pathetic little painting. Louise, your advice is much appreciated and I intend to attempt to apply it this afternoon. I like the gouache addition, love the soft warm pinks Louise.

Love how you handle the layers of washes Louise, you get some lovely rich tones and interesting marks.

I like the simple abstract way you have painted this, with the large block of white building on the left.

A little different to your usual work Louise but it is equally successful.

Liking the white gouache! I know it is regarded as naughty by pure watercolourists, but I have seen it added very successfully to paintings, as you have done here. I like the creamy quality it has allowed you to get in the road and pavements. Nice one!
