Thanks Maria! Actually the blues haven't come out quite right in this scan - the sea has a slightly more green tinge, and the sky is blue rather than grey, but I'm very glad you like it as it's come out on the scan. Thank you.

Thanks for the memories David. My Mum was a Swansea girl and my brothers and I always looked forward to our trips on the "rock and roll" railway during our summer holiday visits there many years ago.

Contrary to what many people believe the world's first passenger railway was actually the Swansea and Mumbles Railway - it was horsedrawn originally. The railway became a tramway, and was something of a tourist attraction for Swansea. In the 60s the local council, with typical foresight, pulled up the track. Now it's actually a very nice seaside walkway and cycletrack, but it's just not the same.
