Great pen work Lew, the tones you have achieved with the wash is excellent. Another Cooper master illustration.

Excellent! Love your illustrations.

More amazing work Lew. Your ability to portray emotions in your characters expressions is quite incredible.

Fab Lewis though I wouldn't like to meet them on a dark night. Love the pierced ears :)

Pure delight your fantasy drawings Lew.

Thanks to all for your kind comments.

Their faces say it all, Lewis, great stuff...and a very favourite book in our family!

Lewis , you have either watched your fellow travelers ,on life's path , very closely - or you are blessed with a very fertile imagination and the ability to convey that to others . Those facial expressions on the Trolls are so very true to life.

When I want to draw and am stuck for an idea, I tend to revert to the fantasy classics. This is from 'The Hobbit', where the trolls have caught Bilbo and have an argument about how, or whether, to cook him. He's just a snack to them. While they argue, he slips away. A3 sketchbook. Pen and wash.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
