That's the only bit I remember too Lewis - great illustration

I must admit your fabulous piece of work Lewis had me using Google instantly to know more.

Wordsworth, Coleridge and Keats - all at A level, eons ago but I still remember many lines, especially from The Ancient Mariner. A great narrative and a superb drawing Lewis.

Excellent artwork Lew , I think most people only remember water water everywhere, but incorrectly add , and not a drop to spare, heard that quoted many times .

Water, water everywhere and how the boards did shrink.......had to learn this at school back in about 1965, it's the only other line I can remember. Thanks for the memory and the super illustration.

A level for me also… great illustration Lew!

This is outstanding Lewis. In Colour a great movie poster as well.

Wonderful drawing Lewis.

The illustration would make a great book cover, nice one.

Thanks as ever for your comments. I think this was standard fare in school for most of us. I wonder if it’s taught now. It’s a great narrative poem that tends to stay in the memory, even if you can’t remember the words.

Great illustration (and yes, those are the only words I remember).

Superb drawing Lewis. And I only remember that line too.

Super drawing Lewis and I can only remember the couple of lines you have mentioned.

From Coleridge's famous poem, and yes, he did spell it that way. Sensible fellow. Finding a tiny book of this fallen down behind my bookcase prompted this. I read it again. Must admit the only bit I ever remember is 'water, water everywhere, and not a drop to drink.' Pen and ink.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
