This and that. by Lewis Cooper

As usual great expressions Lewis. I feel rather the same listening to some of ours! I do like your second girl lots, do you feel like changing the background? I know the feeling about re-working, any time I've tried for a better version it usually turns out worse - wonder why.

Those expressions are great. This time the girl is better but I like her with a hat and the earlier background if that helps?

The characters are superb Lew , I line both the bottom ones and am with you on the banner being the better on the first one .

I know that feeling! Is that Ken Dodd with the bow tie!?

Thank you Sandra, Heather and Dixie. The background is ink on paper, so it's hard to change things Sandra. I've tried many ways to correct ink lines over the years, about the best was painting over them with acrylic, but that might be too noticeable on this. I just have to accept it's what it is and move on. It's OK...could be better...pretty much true about everything I do.

No Tessa, it's not Ken Dodd. But I'd recently drawn Ken so maybe that had some influence, and maybe that's where the buck teeth came from. When you draw things out of your head, there's all sorts of things lurking in your noggin, so maybe things get picked up.

Just love those facial expressions of people listening to politicians - so appropriate.

The 'no it's not Ken Dodd' character made me smile. I think you are being harsh on yourself about the pouty lady, that stoop gives her a sense of realism, and she does indeed have the better banner.

The expressions of the characters are brilliant, and the girls are very well drawn, keep it up Lew.

Interesting group of characters Lewis and as Tessa has mentioned, there is one character who has a Doddy look about him.

A fine example of your varied range of talents Lew. I like the bottom two especially.

Love the girl bottom right - and think the banner background looks fine with its muted colour.

Brilliant expressions on that motley crew Lewis and those two ladies are both lovely.

Brilliantly drawn characters and expressions Lewis - how do you do it? The lips of the 'pouty' lady seem to be all the rage with the young today it seems. I very much like both illustrations though.

Really super characters Lewis. I think the lower ones are good particularly the larger one. Don’t be so hard on yourself, of maybe you look to hard.

My face is in there some where LEWIS.

I’m with Heather on this one. I ‘m sure I have had all those expressions when listening to politicians! Well done!

I shouldn't worry about her being a bit pouty. Some girls are paying a fortune to make themselves pouty.

Top pic is a series of drawings done recently...the theme being people listening to politicians. The small pic below is a painting done some years back, I never liked it...girl's lips too pouty, and she has a stooped posture. Liking the concept I had another go, this time I prefer the girl, but don't like the banner background...preferring the banner in the original pic. Probably best (for me, at least) not to rework things, but do something new.
