Forgot to say in description. Re the top 2 ice-cream pics...last weekend I went to KEW Gardens with my son and his wife. Great day, not too hot, a welcome breeze and a smashing place. During a snack break I opted for a 99 ice cream, you know, a swirl of ice-cream with a stick of chocolate in it. Haven’t had one for donkey’s years. Whilst eating , I noticed a young kid nearby also eating one. He’d fixed me with a intent stare that very small children sometimes give you. I think he was trying to learn how to eat a 99 ice-cream suavely, like me. I managed to get a small blob on my nose for cooling purposes, but he was covered in the stuff.

Sounds like a great day out Lew. Kew Gardens is on my “one day” list. I remember one of my daughters friends while small managed to get ice cream in her ears, obviously everywhere else as well. Innocent pleasures. Good to see you drawing again, keep up the good work.

Love these and your description and illustrations of your ice cream experience

Made my morning bright before work!

Interesting story and great characters Lewis.

Sometimes it's those little things that you remember most. I'm glad in your own unique way Lewis you have got too share it with us.

Great sketching and background 👌

I now have a vision of a lady popping up out of the water, between the giant lily pads in the lily pond. Kew will never be the same again.

Kew such a beautiful place to visit, so much to see even artwork. Great characters Lew , each one is beautifully drawn.

Great set of pictures Lew , love the story.

Super drawings as ever, Lewis - yes its quite difficult eating ice -cream on a very hot day!

Had a good chuckle ta these, Lew!!

I love seeing your pencil drawings Lewis, four mini masterpieces

Such a cheerful and gorgeous characters with that blob of icecream on the tip of his nose and the boy enjoying his cone! Great to see your sketches again, fabulous work!

My father-in-law used to eat ice-creams like that! Nice set of pics.

Excellent drawings Lewis, very well drawn - each tells a story

Such a lovely story Togo with your delightful sketches Lewis.

Good story and drawings Lew. Keep them coming!

Your character below left has a resemblance to the great James Finlayson (could be missing a 'd' in there, I'll have to check) of the Laurel and Hardy films among others. And you've made me thirst for an ice-cream...
