Yes I know what you mean Lewis. I can draw a likeness but when it goes to painting it fades. But we will crack it. I imagine your grandson really likes this.

Yes, I know it only too well but the whole effect is brilliant, as is the other one.

It must be very difficult to get a good likeness Lewis but the overall painting is really great. I have never tried a portrait, think I'd be too scared!!!

I try portraits to be told by family who are more honest that they look nothing like the person they're meant to be. Family members aren't the best critics are they? They're just too honest. lol. Nevertheless, two super paintings here, two to treasure. Love the pirate theme and the gloomy parrot here as well!

This is Excellent. As for how much it favors the child, I have had the same problem. Likeness can get away so quickly. Just the wrong brush stroke can change so much.

Paintings to treasure, Lewis (have just looked at the painting of your other grandson)

The companion piece to the previous post. My Grandson Archie aged about 6. Not a successful portrait.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
