Wonderful as ever Lewis, looking at this, no one would be able to tell that you are struggling to paint.

Very good (I like old words too)!

Superb, Lewis - great character and I like the colours and the attention to detail - like the inky fingers!

Love the ink stained fingers!

Great info Lewis and another character too treasure

Oh that face. That’s superb Lewis.

What tales he could tell. Splendid work.

That is magic, Lewis!!!

I almost choked over my weetabix,,, he is brilliant Lew. I’m sure you used next doors son as a model.

Superb work Lew , the face tells its own story.

Sorry you’re struggling I know what it’s like. Have developed macro degeneration and have been painting without seeing properly. It’s good to carry on and do what we can Lewis. Don’t give up as your paintings are a great source of joy and amusement, as is the one above.

Superb artwork Lew , the character is how you would imagine one being.

Fabulous Lewis and a great idea.

What a character! Marvellous Lewis.

I really appreciate your comments.

What a great idea Lewis - and you illustrate these characters so well. Love the inky fingers too.

Total magic from your aching fingers, Lewis! Brilliant!

Take away the end of that nose and he’d look almost normal.

Excellent, love the ink stains and little papers on his headgear!

👍 Excellent work Lewis.

Details are superb, especially the parchment edging to the painting.

Really good , love his hand !!

Good to see you painting whatever it is Lew. Always worth seeing. Love the cold disdain in this chaps look

You've caught him perfectly Lewis.

Still struggling to paint. I like old words, so I thought the next time I come across one I'll illustrate it. A scrivener is a man who wrote formal documents, like deeds or contracts. I'd imagined they wouldn't be short of a few bob, so I painted him that way. (At least I've painted something.) Watercolour, coloured pencil, and pen.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
