Love it, Lewis! Sorry to have missed a lot of posts this week due to computer problems and closing down our gallery.

Love the drawing. Find the subject matter ety intresting, I love the old fables, especial old Pagen tales.

You are very excellent at these Lew...

Thank you Thalia, Alan and Sylvia for your feedback, always welcome. Yes Alan, I find these old legends and folklore interesting. Fairy tales really, usually with a moral in there somewhere.

Great stuff Lew. Caught her expression well. She looks like he mischevious landlady of the Golden Apple pub somewhere after asking a customer how his wife is after seeing him with his girl-friend.. (-:

Yes that's her, Jim. And she'll say these things with such a sweet smile.

Woman after my own heart!!

You have caught that wonderful expression of naughtiness and charm wonderfully Lewis.

Another brilliant painting lewis

I think this lady could stir up more than just strife, discord and rivalry Lewis! Wonderful expression and great painting.

Love all the old Greek mythology Lew, she looks very happy to have caused so much damage, but beautifully painted as always 😀

Another great idea, superbly executed, Lew. Even the title is an instant hook. Yes, those old myths are brilliant if you take them at face value. IE total nonsense, but wonderfully adventurous. Bri

Thanks again to all those who've had a look and commented...very much appreciated.

Was she inspired by Hattie Jaques? It pops off the page as always with your work.

Brilliant drawing Lewis.

No Linda, she wasn't inspired by Hattie Jacques. The legends often don't give much of a description, I just went for a plump happy looking woman (who enjoys her work). Why? Don't know...I didn't want her to look obviously mean.

Great fun drawing Lewis :)

I think she's very alluring Lewis, as did Paris I guess!

This is clever, Lewis, with great linework. She looks a right mischief maker and no mistake!

Gouache. A4 sketchbook. My imagining of this troublemaker. She's the one who gave Paris the golden apple that he was to award to the one he thought the most beautiful of three Goddesses. She knew, whichever he chose, there would be trouble. And there was...it led to the Trojan War. I find all this interesting, nonsense of course, but interesting nonsense.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
