Digital paintings.

welcome to the modern world. Great results. I wonder what´s more fun, working on paper or on the PC? ... or to that matter, which takes longer?

Wow, Lewis. I struggle to paint with a brush on paper. Hats off to you. I wouldn’t have a clue how to do this. Love the punk.

Thanks Pat and Seth. It's great working digitally, it's far easier to change or correct things than my watercolour. I see it as just another way of making pictures. But it's drawing I like most, my paintings are little more than coloured-in drawings...true for many people I suppose, but screamingly obvious in my case. That's how I like it. So I prefer conventional art. I haven't found digital to be much quicker...but that may just be me.

I prefer conventional too, I used to do digital animation in the early 90's and tried my hand a maya (the program they created the Golem with in Lord of the rings) but its too big for any one person to master that program (normally they have teams working on the different elements, modelling, textures, dynamics and rendering.) Still its good to try your hand at everything, and these aren't bad.

Please never give up your wonderful caricature paintings-- they are sooo entertaining and lovely to study and so different from anything or anyone else's they really are a joy to study well done Lewis for your efforts with this.. but bring back your true art.

I echo Seth's comment...wouldn't have a clue with digital...you're very brave and clever!! These are great, Lewis, but I prefer your brush/pen/pencil work!

Gosh these are so good Lewis, I'm hopeless doing this.

The forum has featured the subject of digital pens over recent weeks, I bought a cheap one a few years back that was useless. The toothsome dwarf and the punk girl were pencil drawings, scanned into my PC and painted with my ancient version of Photoshop Elements. The fish was drawn using my mouse...I'm not good with that, a simple shape like this is about all I can manage with a mouse.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
