I think it's really good figure work Lewis 🙂

Been trying to think of what to say about this piece Lewis. It seems to express the materialism, or materialistic culture we live in. A cultural period tantalised by bright brash colour and the flesh, which to our dismay never fulfils our deepest needs. I like your endeavours of inventiveness. We need more of it.

Agree with John, very inventive and full of meaning....although Mondrian, would NEVER have used green.

Thanks for your comments. I agree with Andre... no green, if I'm following Mondrian to the letter...he used yellow, red and blue (Plus black and white). As I said in my description, I've used whatever colour I liked. I loved Mondrian's early work, not so keen on this type...but it's a great graphical device, you see it used everywhere. (Just my opinion).

What a brilliant painting Lewis, your figure work is excellent.

Really nice work Lewis, excellent figure work

An attempt to paint something other than cartoons. The girl was from a ref pic, the background is based on Mondrian's painting. I don't like them much, but they are a great graphic popular with illustrators and artists.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
