Well done Lewis. Top draw. Full of character. And movement.

Oh this is SO good and a wonderful golden oldie, so reminiscent of those old seaside postcards.

Wonderful, Lewis - made me laugh!

Wonderful painting Lewis full of character. Great colours and style.

'Tis a pity you didn't design seaside postcards when you were younger. Our loss, but at least you have some gems to share with us.

More wonderful Characters Lewis and everlasting humour. Lot's of us grew up using Reeves watercolours, I wonder if they are still manufacturing?

That is wonderful, Lewis - what a great "old" painting!!

This really brightened my morning - literally and metaphorically!

Superb, like the old classic postcards.

Gosh, almost makes one jealous of ‘old Sid’, super work Lewis

The facial expressions are priceless Lewis and you combine narrative and humour so uniquely. Thanks for putting a smile on my face this morning.

Thank you for having another look at this oldie.

Fabulous characters Lew ,all superbly drawn . Reeves paints are still available well they were a couple of years ago my granddaughter was given some, one of the older brands and originally used by some of the famous Victorian artists.

Wonderful!

Presumably, old Sid has come into money.....

I don't know what he's got but it must be working!

Love this so full of character.

What wonderful characters with great expressions. Love the outfits too. An oldie but “goodie”!

Great characters.

This is a cracker Lewis. The wonderful expressions, the fine detail in the clothes, the poses and movement all supremely illustrated, you are so talented.

Brilliant! And my very first wc box was a Reeves, over 70 years ago...

Have you made that book yet, Lewis? Maybe you have a dozen by now. Fabulous!

Looking through old sketchbooks I came across this. A character called 'old Sid'. I recall doing a few pics of him. I posted it 8 years ago, when I first joined POL. It was painted with cheap Reeves watercolour. Still looks OK, I've a couple on my walls painted with the same brand. (I'm not suggesting you use cheap paints, but these old pics are still fine.)

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
