I used to go there on Sunday mornings in the 80’s looking for brass doorknobs for my stripped pine doors. Mmm. Terrific picture Lewis.

This is outstanding Lew , the colours and the figures are superb. It’s all the little details that yiu have included that make it outstanding for me .

Wonderful detail. Great characters and full of colour. Great work Lewis.

There’s a lot of work gone into this drawing Lew… first class as always!

Terrific scene Lew. Full of life and mirth

Full of detail...and life. I like the contrast between the punk couple on the right and the stuck in the 1960's stall holder.

Super work Lewis, full of colour. Lots going on.

Thank you for your comments. Glad you picked up on the 60's stallholder, Tony. When I was going to the market in the early 90s, it seemed to me that a lot of the people were stuck in the so called 'swinging' 60s...old uniforms, top hats etc. Goths were also big, back then. Well, 'big' for a few people. I just loved to see it all.

Superb detail and colour Lew , remember these old markets well.

Beautifully designed and painted Lewis.

So very interesting and so very good!

So much to enjoy here Lewis, superb drawing skills, fabulous characters and detail.

Absolutely stunning work Lewis.

Amazing drawing skill and ability to create these wonderfully funny characters - superb, Lewis!

Love this - great characters.

Excellent work, Lewis. You never fail to please with your art work.

Such a lot to browse over Lewis, and great characters as always.

A wonderful assortment of interesting characters Lewis, with such a strong narrative.

Just love all those characters and their expressions.

Such great faces in there Lew. Tells a humorous story!

I don’t think the lady in green is very impressed with hubby’s purchase Lewis!

In the 90's both my sons lived near Camden Market in London. We'd visit the market when we saw our sons. A lot of good stuff, and a lot of tatty kitsch. I found the kitsch more interesting. Mixed media.

About the Artist
Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
