Romeo, Romeo...(Blue A3 sketchbook)

Romeo & Juliet

She looks very soulful, excellent piece of work.

Indeed it would ... wouldn't have given you this opportunity to paint her as she really is/was!

Such a forlorn expression Lew, I agree with your words …brilliant.

Excellent pencil work Lew , I do like your blue drawings . I also enjoy your humour and take on things.

Excellent expression Lewis, lovely work.

Great drawing Lewis with great expression. Maybe you should do some more “what ifs “!

I am not sure what the graphic equivalent of a national bard would be, but we should make you one.

I don’t know how you come up with some of your ideas Lew, but glad that you do! Maybe you should show us how Romeo has fared after 25 years in the pub!?

How sad she looks Lewis. Great use of blue. Only you could pull it off so brilliantly.

Poor Juliet, she looks awfully blue.........!

As ever, your great feedback is very encouraging...thanks to all. Christine, I often use the 'what if' trick to get ideas. That's a great idea Tessa, they'd make a good matching pair in this year's art book...watch this space.

A fabulous drawing Lewis, the 'blue and black' certainly add to the feeling of melancholy and despair that Juliet is obviously experiencing.

Haha great. Loving the blue drawings 💙 😏

Great "text" Lewis ! Juliet should get a medal for standing there 25 years.

Excellent lewis

She’d be about 40 here, wonder what Romeo looks like…..funny how the mind runs on.

Tell her to get off that bloody balcony and get off down to the pub. 25 years , daft woman.

Little does she know how lucky she is to have avoided the other fate.

Another piece that showcases your superb draughtsmanship, Lewis. And I love the bluish monochromatic palette, which certainly reflects the mood of the subject!

Drawn with Blue and Black coloured pencils (water-soluble and Polychromos.) The shadow behind Juliet is watercolour. Text added in Photoshop.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
