It's definitely worth pursuing Lewis, it's really interesting. It reminds me of a playing card, I've always loved the designs on those.

I love that, Lewis - keep them coming!!!

I find myself looking at all the lovely design around the face, I like the whole effect.

Love this surreal cubism. Brings Lewis Carol to mind

It’s much better than you think Lew , I know it’s not what you set out to achieve but it’s a superb piece , different and outstanding work. I would be tempted to experiment a bit more to se how it could be developed.

Thank you for your comments. I enjoyed doing this, but kept changing my mind about how I was going to do it, so I don’t see it as a success. Oddly, I still like it. I’ll try again but do a few things differently.

It's always worth experimenting and I really like this Lewis.

Really well drawn with excellent ga-ga patterns and colours.

By 'not right' you, of course, mean 'not what you had wanted'. And for the rest of us it isn't 'Alright' either....it's much much better than that

Don't be so hard on yourself, I think this is really attractive and all those patterns so well done

It's very good Lewis. Well designed and well painted.

Superb artwork whatever style you call it.

It looks pretty good tto me It could be straight out of Alice in Wonderland!

I really like this decorative style. Love the blue flowers - and those green eyes are quite mesmerising.

A marvellous sense of design here Lewis. It is extremely magnetising.

I like it Lewis, it's not wrong, just different to what you had intended.

I like the many patchwork patterns.

That's really clever, I love it.

I really, really, like this Lewis. It works a treat. The more you look the more you see in it. Well balanced.

Beautiful detail in the fabric and I love the quirky position of the head. She makes me smile.

Really like it!

I rather like it too. Keep experimenting-it works!

Stylised, realistic or both together, all combos would work for me Lewis. I really like it. It's a very pretty face - am I allowed to say that?

Thanks again for your great response. It's not what I set out to do, but I like it, and will certainly have another go in this 'style'. Glad you think she's pretty Russell, the face was meant to be fairly realistic...except I made the eyes bigger than they should be.

Wonderful intricate patterns!

I really like this Lewis, especially the background with the flowers. Looking forward to seeing more of these.

Certainly worth having another go Lewis, perhaps a series in this style?

Interesting and looks like you had fun doing this Lewis. Keep on going

I've made a number of pics like this in 6 x 4 inch, thought I'd try a large version. In style of cubist pics that have a figure and coloured geometrics around it. Wasn't working for me so I went ga-ga with patterns. I need to decide to have a realistic face OR a stylized version, not both. Here...realistic face...stylized neck. Wrong. Fun doing it. I'll try again doing it differently. Mixed media.
