Mucha Style-14 x 11 inches-mixed media by Lewis Cooper
A recent reshuffle left the pictures in my spare bedroom looking odd. I have two Mucha style pictures, and needed a third. After a couple of aborted attempts to make one up, I copied the girl from one of Mucha's paintings. I changed quite a lot, but it's still heavily Mucha. He usually added a thick black outline around his figures...it makes them pop. I wasn't intending to do this, but it didn't look right, so I put the outline in place. Watercolour, a little Inktense, Gouache and pen.
About the Artist
Lewis Cooper
Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
