The Red Ribbon

This painting is really well done especially the sorrowful eyes.I love the looseness of it and as you are still learning .I think you certainly on the right track. I wish I could paint as loosely.

Hi Joy, thank you, I so appreciate you having a look at this painting and taking the trouble to make your comments. Like you I used to wish I could paint loosely and would study the work of people I wanted to emulate for hours on end. I admire the paintings of Jean Haines, Hazel Soan and Shirley Trevena and bought their dvd's and books to learn from, and have found them immensely helpful and instructive. I paint on my own so without their dvd's and books I would be stuck. I know there are other painters who paint equally as loosely but these are the three I'm concentrating on at the moment. I've a long way to go, but if I can do it, so can you. :~))
