Ruth, you have no idea just how much your comments have lifted and encouraged me. I needed that, as I've pretty well hit rock bottom. Isn't it interesting how something said by a complete stranger can turn things around and restore a bit of self confidence. So now I'm up again thanks to you and starting on a new project. Thank you for taking the time to encourage me.

It's a wonderful portrait Angela and Ruth is so right you have really caught the character of the person in this one...your use of colour is great.

Thank you Patsy, Jean and Satu for your comments, which are so encouraging. This is one painting that at the completion of which I have felt reasonably happy, something very rare indeed for me. I hope so much that it's not a one off and that I I have learnt something form this painting and will be able to do another that I can be reasonably happy with.
