Hi lala go on I know you are itching for the quality paper...this is good, I like it.

Love the red you've used here; only your second watercolour??? Splash out, and get yourself a pad of Bockingford, or just one Imperial sheet - you can trim it to whatever size you like and get a good few paintings out of it. Inkjet paper isn't bad, but you're ready for better.

Phil, this was over a year ago, and yes you are right of course, there is no substitute for quality paper! I'm going to have to do this again on good paper and feel and see the difference. Thank you for your comment.

Thank you Robert, I cringe when I look at my early efforts, but at the same time they do encourage me because I have moved on a bit. That's a valuable teaching tool isn't it. To keep all your paintings however cringe making and look back on them and learn. I keep the ink jet for preliminary sketches now.

2nd attempt at watercolour. A flamingo painted from memory. Don't laugh but this is done on ink jet printing paper because I'm practising. The paper seemed to work quite well so now I know what to do with the piles of paper I've been saving from printing out drafts of written work, part of a story ink jet printed on one side, a watercolour on the other. Got to watch the pennies, and it's only for me! When I get more confident I'll branch out to proper watercolour paper. :~))
