Super watercolour painted with your usual skill and good technique. I like the way you've continued the blue irregular lines to the bottom of the paper which add a lot to the overall composition. Lovely work as always!

A most beautiful and pleasing painting, love the colour pallet.

I saw that film - it was one of my mother's favourite's of Chaplin's. This is utterly brilliant - the pose, the painting of it and the palette. You are a little genius, Kim!

Another beautiful portrait. Full of emotion that you've depicted with your wonderfully loose style.

Seen this one before and it is marvelous. The chaotic background is a great contrast to the intimate and protective moment between the child and Charlie Chaplin.

Stunning work, Kim - superb washes and lovely palette. You've captured the defiance and intensity of the gaze perfectly.

I'm very gratified to read your comments. Some of the 'chaos' (cheers Joe) to the right of Chaplin's face are actually Fox Terrier-related (as in "jumping up and being a nuisance"), but I'd already started to introduce some 'entropy' to the background so I made a virtue out of necessity and simply incorporated them.

Beautiful!

Nice to see you back. Outstanding as always and conveys exactly what you said the photograph/image does.

I'm not normally one for 'heritage' paintings, but Chaplin's defiant gaze and protective embrace in this famous scene have always moved me deeply.
