Saint Cuthbert of Durham

Not the standard depiction of a saint but who knows, probably more accurate!

He's definitely a mate of St Joseph of Bolton Michael. (-:

Standard depictions are no fun Stephen. Jesus is always a western man, why not an eastern woman? Here comes surrealism!

Joe with the Lancashire accent who wears the Wander’s shirt Jim?

Been watching too many horror movies. St Cuthbert will be turning in his grave Michael.

There are various images of St Cuthbert on Google. I looked up Holy Island . I was trying to figure out how to up load you a pic but I can’t . You may want to look for yourself. Your likeness is remarkably like the images on the island. A bit spooky really.

He might Carole. Well the man did come to me in a dream, so I saw the big jawed narrow shouldered saint Sylvia. I wonder who I’ll dream about tonight, perhaps St. David - been there but not seen him yet. I’ll let you know.

I'm glad I don't have your dreams Michael! All your paintings are great.

Brilliant. I made up a similar one on Wednesday, perhaps even more disturbing so have not posted it.

Thanks Gudrun. Why not do some disturbing?

An image that came to me in a dream last night. He said he was St. Cuthbert of Durham and that he was sad at the way Durham City Council were spoiling the city centre. 'I agree entirely Cuths' I said, woke up, immediately went into a state of automatic surrealism and produced this watercolour. I was startled by his massive jaw bone and narrow shoulders.
