The harbour at Blyth.
Oil on canvas 12x10, palette knife. When I was 17 I rowed for Durham City in a four crew. 4 big lads. At the Blyth Regatta we were drawn against St. Joseph’s of Dumfries. Little school lads. We thought we’d trounce them, however, they left us standing from the start. Well beaten by some puny schoolboys. I learned a lesson from that embarrassment - don’t underestimate your opponent.
