Soft pastel on Pastelmat Card. 24 x 30 cm. Depicts a warm summer's afternoon with Heap Clouds building up over the summit of the Niesen (2'362 m), the pyramidal icon of Lake Thun, Switzerland. I blocked-in with hard pastels, created a dry underpainting using a piece of pipe foam-insulation, then used Unison, Schminke and Sennelier soft pastels in layers until the atmospheric effect I was seeking was achieved. On-Site painting.
