Love those delicate reds and oranges and greens Katy. Can’t help wondering if perhaps a blue background would enhance the beauty of your painting. Just think the grey is a bit drab but I could be mistaken.

Lovely Katy, beautiful form on each fruit and the lost and found edges could be highlighted on leaves to suggest loose expression.. don’t know if I am making sense though!

Thank you for the constructive comments, the background is the result of me panicking and washing the colour out. Why do I do that? I am quite pleased with the lanterns though.

From a trip to The Botanic Gardens in Cambridge last week to meet up with a friend. Watercolour on Windsor & Newton hp 7” x 10”. Not really happy with it, wanted a looser style and a darker foreground. Might try again on not paper. Comments welcome, good or bad!
