Interesting stories and well painted but not sure I would want any of these "Princes" on my wall! Might give me nightmares. Is that a peacock feather design on his robe ?

Yes it is peacock feathers on his robe, again, associated with East (as is the purple robe). I've actually had a Christian tell me they won't have peacock feathers in the house, some people associate them with evil for some peculiar reason! They were painted as part of my own work, not for sale. The Princes are mostly misunderstood and misinterpreted by modern Christians as being evil, they are neither good nor bad, they have their functions. I have an interest in the esoteric, hence the subject matter. Not intended to offend or shock anyone, they are what they are.

I love peacock feathers. Whilst at school I went on a school trip to a country house that had peacocks in the garden, I collected some of the feathers and took them home. I thought the colours in them were beautiful and pinned them above my bed. Unfortunately my mum disagreed and wanted them out of the house, never knew why, now I do. I managed to keep them for several months 'til one day I arrived home and they had gone, I was heartbroken. I'm sure I didn't speak to her for weeks, well days at least !! As I said, they are excellent paintings, just not my cup of tea and they certainly didn't offend or shock me. Regards Val

Some say the peacock feathers are evil eyes being brought into your house hence get them out :) Good work and story/legend. Best regards Paul

Agree with peacock feathers Paul wouldn't have one in the house...Elephants too their trunks must be pointing upwards...what superstitions but I stick by them...I love ypour paintings Kathryn and the lore behind them

Trunks pointing upwards is lucky, downwards is not I am told.

Satan, associated with the direction East. From Hebrew, ShTn meaning an adversary. Painted using acrylics. (Nothing to do with 'pop Satanism' by the way!).
