Couldn't not comment on this one as well. LIke your treatment of the distant hills and the foreground grasses, a lovely painting.

almost like a face.........mouth and two eyes..............lovely.......

Love your paintings & photography. Have had a look at your website. I like your New Grange work particularly and am interested in your perspective on art from Ireland. and also how it ties into the music. Do you play Lambeg yourself? I thought it was mainly men who play!

Thanks for the comments. I was inside New Grange, an amazing place, it's like a big womb. I don't play the Lambeg myself (that would be a sight, i'm only 5'3" and very petite). I went to see the lambeg competition out of curiousity, it was an event which kicked-off the 12th July celebrations in Tandragee (6 miles from me). The Orange Order is attempting to make the12th more tourist friendly and improve the image of the events both on the 12th and leading up to it. My Welsh fiance thinks it's all a bit bizarre.

I agree that is bizarre not surprised that's how he finds it...being from Belfast tourist friendly and I was once a part of that...it's an antagonistic event...sorry Kathryn hope I don't offend

Hi Patsy, you do not offend at all, have relatives who where 'part of that' too (late grandfather for one would have been delighted by Lambeg pics and that someone in the family still took an interest in Ulster history and culture). I see myself as non affiliated (being a non christian). I still have an interest in my familiy past, my history and heritage. Each to their own I say. Thing is, in NI, people judge you by your background. The first question is always 'is your dad so and so?' etc. I was from North Belfast and moved when I was a child. My fiance loved seeing the bands and found everyone really friendly but did not understand the history behind it. Thanks for kind replies on the other pictures too. Best wishes, K.
