Acrylic on MDF (30 x 42cm). I was inspired by Trevor Lawrence’s beautiful painting, A Summer Garden, featured in Leisure painter July 2021. I used his idea of scratching lines into the board with the end of a brush after priming it with acrylic emulsion. I also used similar colours for the background. For the rest of the painting I was inspired by the spring flowers I saw on the verges whilst out walking. A little bit of experimentation with mark-making and colours too!
