Thank you, Seok. There's a huge thrill in suddenly finding that elusive 'wow factor' has actually been achieved! I was up against it with this one as I didn't find out about the competition until very late. The challenge was to find the right subject, of course! Actually this was my postcard entry in line and gouache for the 'Wish you were here' competition! As I often work like this in a tiny moleskine-type sketchbook when working out ideas for much bigger work, perhaps to carry out en plein air, or maybe in the studio, this small format is quite a familiar one. Certainly it was exciting to work to a competition deadline!
