Hello Linda This was carried out in collaboration with a most excellent blacksmith ! I worked out the structure and measurements with the aid of maquettes and large sheets of paper, and then simply stood ready with the plans and a huge protractor, as the thing grew in front of my eyes ! I don't very often get the chance to work in 3-D, but that wonderful tactile feel of drawing these huge wing shapes with chalk on steel was unforgettable! Perhaps the above encourages you to have a go? My main limitation was the time factor, so I needed a sympathetic expert to carry out the work, and was lucky enough to find just the man!
