High Stile Range from Lanthwaite Green

Love this Jo, great colour, composition and depth. Is it also postcard size ? Your images all have a certain graphic quality which stands out at once ; remind me of linocuts.

Thanks for your nice comments, Sharon, but let me explain about the scale of these recent originals. Much of my recent work is in the form of 'cameos', carried out quite quickly on postcard size watercolour paper. The subjects are selected for their immediacy, and are carried out with the aim of maximum impact. "High Stile" is however a quite different work, carried out quite large - scale (I think the original is about 4 1/2 ft x 3ft) in acrylic on canvas, and much of it with a painting knife!

This is a stunning piece of work, it has a wonderful abstract look to it. The limited pallet adds to its appeal. Smashing work.

Thank you very much, C A. I must admit that from the moment my painting knife described that ridge with luscious buttery paint 'straight from the tube', I had the feeling it was going to be 'a good 'un'!
