I do like this version Jenny , I recall seeing your other post of the scene , it’s complete and in my view doesn’t need anything else done to it .

Great picture Jenny.

I think the monochrome approach works really well and I like this a lot Jenny

I like it very much, monochrome always gives a different 'take' on things.

Very good. Its a bit like a Japanese print.

Thanks very much, Paul, Stephen, Heather, Lewis and Sarah for your encouraging comments - I really appreciate them as I wasn’t sure about this one!

I remember the colour version, this is equally as effective.

Many thanks, Andrew and Spencer!

An enchanting image Jenny.

Thank you, Carole!

The coloured versions were lovely, but you have got the tonal values just right here… great job!

Thanks very much, Alan, for your positive comment! In some ways I found this easier to do, just focusing on tonal values, rather than having to ensure a balance of colour throughout the painting.

Jenny, I think this is my favourite of this scene. I wonder if it’s because I like the contrast that you get from prints. It’s a beauty.

Thanks, Fiona! I also like the printed look you get with monochrome, it’s often more appealing than colour. Thought I might try it again later in sepia for a more aged look.
