This is lovely Jenny, great colour palette and lovely textured washes.

You really do have your own style Jenny. I do enjoy your work.

Many thanks, Heather, Linda and Sylvia! Linda, I always use salt for my textured washes, don’t think I could paint without it now - and thank you so much, Sylvia, for your kind words, this kind of feedback always keeps me going - interesting that a forum discussion on style was started today!

As always, a delight to see your work, Jenny. Gorgeous color and great design.

Fantastic painting, lovely colours and a feeling of tranquility from this work...

Thanks very much Lewis and Dorothea for your lovely comments, they are really appreciated.

Gorgeous ‘Beltie’ Jenny, which sits in your interesting and stylishly painted surroundings.

Many thanks, Fiona, much appreciated!

Absolutely brilliant painting, love the BG, I also like your style of painting.

Thanks very much, Paul, for your encouraging comment.

I love your style of painting as well Jenny!!

I always love to see distinctive styles in art. And your style Jenny, is just that. So sharp and clear, each section of the painting making it's own statement. It really stands out, and I love that tree! Really lovely work.

Love the cow.....

Many thanks Louise, Ann and Jill for your kind comments. ‘Style’ is a bit of a talking point on the forum at the moment. Not sure what prompted me to start using pen and ink with watercolour, but it satisfies my need to be neat and means I can take my time working through a painting - the thought of working quickly blending lots of wet washes is a bit too daunting for me!

Superb Jenny, gorgeous colours and beautiful design

Thanks very much, Anjana!

As always, great style and colours.

Many thanks, Richard!

Pen and ink with watercolour. The local heath on the edge of the Surrey Hills where I walk my dog is mainly oak and silver birch, but there are on the edge of the heath some lovely pine trees. This is my impression of a favourite view, including one of the Belted Galloways that graze the area. I’ve incorporated two colours I rarely use (Raw Sienna and Perylene Green) to try to capture some of the autumn colours in the fading bracken etc.
