Thank you Heather, Jenny and Tessa. The texture effect is achieved partly by first lightly coating the paper with oil pastel which creates an uneven and unstable surface for the acrylic paint. Chris Forsey, whose book I’m guided by, often uses this combination.

I’m working my way through the demonstrations in Chris Forsey’s ‘Mixed Media Landscapes and Seascapes’. This one is inspired and guided by ‘The Autumn Valley’. Oil pastels, acrylic paint and acrylic ink on Daler–Rowney mixed media paper.
