Kilchurn Castle, a ruined 15th century edifice, stands on a bleak peninsula at the north-east end of Loch Awe, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Charcoal (powdered, liquid and solid) over a wash of yellow ochre on rough watercolour paper.
