Dolbadarn Castle


Like this a lot James , I was looking at several photos of this scene today , and decided not to do a painting, it would have looked sad at the side of yours .

This is lovely and, yes, would make a wonderful larger piece too ... look forward to seeing it!

Hang on Studio Wall

This 13th century fortification in north Wales was often painted by Turner. My modest small (A5) line and wash sketch might be developed into a larger piece, perhaps guided by some of the principles in Tony Smibert’s “Turner’s Apprentice”, a wonderful book.
