Lovely looking place James

Very good James of lovely Lanty's Yarn. Excellent trees.

Thank you Heather and Richard. I love working with charcoal and this contre jour scene seemed an ideal subject.

You have real skill with this material James. Such variety in the trees and composition is a credit to you. One of the best works on the gallery..

This is excellent James - a very good medium to work in, like it a lot.

Fabulous. I’ve really enjoyed meandering down that track and into the heart of the picture.

Thank you John, Dympna and Jan. I’m very grateful for your comments.

This is really well painted James , much to like about it.

Super work James, charcoal and graphite work very well for winter scenes.

I absolutely love this picture. The contrasting soft and hard lines with wonderful texture adding a real sense of depth to the landscape. The refections on the water are wonderful and I love the wintery atmosphere you have captured.

Thank you Sharon. I greatly appreciate your comments.

Lanty’s Tarn is on Birkhouse Moor above Glenridding. Painted and drawn with liquid and solid charcoal (Nitram) and lightly toned with tinted graphite (Derwent) on cold-pressed Canson watercolour paper
