Thanks for your comments, the wet sand WAS thouroughly frustrating, plenty of scrubbing and re-painting, eventually I just settled for a sky-reflection, with a muddy-shadow for the prominent rock - hence the reason for the smudged lines.I reckon it still needs a bit of work - when I get home I may throw in a bit of a seagull to liven things up.

Hi Ian, this is a nice seascape, (they are a passion of mine!), nice foreground interest with the rocks, well done and many thanks for your comments on Elephants at sunset which was painted as a request from my youngest daughter.

Water soluble oil on Board 14" x 9"... My first attempt at using this medium from a photo taken a few years ago. I did speed things up by using acrylics to block in the dark areas of the rocks and the headland. Having painted with acrylics for some time - I like their fast-drying properties, but also like the flow of oils... so I decided to combine the two...
