‘While my guitar gently weeps’
Recorded in 1969 and written by George Harrison, the Beatles lead guitarist, this song was inspired by his understanding of the Chinese I Ching. The Eastern concept is that whatever happens is all meant to be and that there’s no such thing as coincidence. The song reflects Harrison’s frustration and inner turmoil, and is often interpreted as a commentary on the state of the world and the need for change.
