‘Because’
Continuing my Beatles theme ‘Because’ was written by Lennon in 1969. Lennon wrote the melody after hearing Yoko Ono play Beethovens ‘Moonlight Sonata’ on their piano. He asked if she could play the chords backwards and based the song on this. It’s thought she also had some input into the lyrics. It’s sung in 9 part harmony sung by Lennon, McCartney and Harrison and then overdubbed twice. My interpretation includes the Greek gods of the sky and the wind as well as the songs lyrics.
