“Taxman”
“Taxman” is a Beatles song written in 1966 by George Harrison. It protests against the higher level of tax imposed in the UK by the Labour government of Harold Wilson. It meant that the Beatles paid over 90% of their earnings to the Treasury. “Taxman” was influential in the development of British psychedelia and the mod-pop style.
