Cat ‘n ice or CAT-ice

What an interesting description, learnt a lot Spencer. This is a wonderful depiction of it too

Interesting information Spencer, I didn’t know that. Love the view of your cat looking down at you.

You learn something every day. Very good.

Such a clever aspect to have painted this from Spencer. Thanks for the interesting information..

Very clever and well thought out.

Thanks for your comments Heather, Fiona, Denise, Carole and Chris. It’s amazing what information you can find on the internet. It’s certainly given me some ideas for my paintings!

Very interesting. Great bags of character in kitty 😺

This is interesting and unique! Lovely painting Spencer.

Cleverly executed

Thank you Faye, Carole and Romila. Glad you found it interesting. To form the ice effects took several washes after scribing into the paper to get the paint to sit within the indentations to form the concentric circles.

Interesting info, and I like your depiction of it. (The painting jogged my memory a little. We all have fragments of information in our noggin, things we can't quite remember. There's a poem I read about the effect cats have on other animals. The bit I recall was from a fish point of view...a fish looks up and sees a cat walking on the ice above him - just like your painting -not knowing about ice, the fish gets worried that cats can now walk on water. I can't remember the poem and will probably never find it. You probably didn't need to know this, but I like paintings that make you think.)

Thanks Lewis. I don’t know that poem but do like things that make me think. That’s what has happened with quite a few of my cat paintings. It’s how I can interpret words in an artistic form that suits my style of painting.

Cat-ice is a proper noun. I have painted this viewed from below the ice looking up towards a cat standing on the ice. Cat-ice is marked by concentric circles like contour lines in puddles or small bodies of water. Cat-ice is named because it could potentially bear the weight of an agile, light footed cat. A3 size.
