Excellent Owen

Excellent result. I think I prefer willow to nitram, the softness, but I haven’t perservered.

Thanks you three. Marjorie. Yes, willow is lovely and so immediate. I watched a couple of Painter of the Year masterclasses where they extolled Nitram. I've found it slow going.

Willow followed by Pitt extra soft for building up the darks.

Nicely done Owen. I use both willow and nitram. I think I may have a B+. I have a bloc de saule which gives you a deep rich black, if you wanted to go darker than the B.

Very good, the Nitram works well.

Nitram charcoal on A3 pastel paper. Imy first time with Nitram. It's okay, closer to graphite in its handling. Not as fast as my normal willow + compressed charcoals. Moving up to A3 made the grain less obvious.

Started on Bob Ross. Great fun, fast and confidence building. Progressed to Mark Carder oils. The first time I could paint what saw. Now doing watercolour due to time restrictions. Sloooow progress.
