This is excellent, has that warm misty look you get over sea .

It has a lovely loose feel to it, nicely painted - I don't think it's overworked William.

Excellent William, straight in with a loaded brush… you get that spontaneity which is so satisfying in a watercolour - Wesson was the master with this direct approach!

I don't think it's overworked at all - though I also think people can get a bit too worried about that: an open, loose scene is all very well, but there has to be something there - and there is; so good.... I like to have something to catch my attention, otherwise it's just another competent watercolour, and one moves on. I like the way you've merged the sand into the sea, your ghost yachts, the sky. I wonder if you used a hake brush ... there are one or two rather sharp angles suggestive of that, or anyway of a flat: I hasten to say that wouldn't be a problem for me in assessing the picture; it's the colour balance I think you've really brought off; and if it were fussier than it is, it WOULD have been overworked, but you hit the compositional balance too.

Thank you everybody for those kind comments and Robert i used a couple of synthetic mops but ones that are better than the hype they get and actually do what they say on the tin! Also holding near the end of the handle before I used kolinsky brushes and a mop but held to near the furrell also with some light sketching with a pencil but slowly moved away from this approach and now enjoying the freedom. Thank you for you input.👍
