I see what you mean, but wonder if I would have done if you hadn't said it..... (does that make any sense?). Keeping the water so simple has helped concentrate the eye on the hills - it's a highly attractive painting..... root around a bit more in those archives.

I agree with Robert, Graham. This is just amazing. Perfectly painted and beautiful colours. I like it!

Great as it is - any more work on the water and it may have appeared overworked. I agree with Roberts comment on concentrating the eye on the hills

Lovely painting Graham, beautifully painted

Thanks Robert, Mia, Michael and Petra for looking at this painting and for your kind comments, I think on balance that you are all correct in that I was better leaving the water simple, but sometimes when working in isolation you begin to have self doubts about certain aspects of a piece ----- !! anyway your comments are always greatly appreciated .

Beautifully painted mountains Graham, I envy your talent for watercolour landscapes.

Thanks for the comment Val, much appreciated .

Another super view. With your beautiful sky and detail in the landscape I agree that the simplicity of the water adds focus and balance and complements the scene.

Absolutely super, Graham! Love the light, airy feel of the painting and the tranquility that you've captured to perfection.

A real beauty Graham, I love the hills and trees.

Thanks Lesley,Seok and Denise for once again having a look and leaving such kind comments on this piece,it is greatly appreciated.

A lovely, sweeping panora and such a great pallette too :)

Many thanks for your kind comments Sarah, much appreciated my myself.

Very good use of colour on the hills Graham, I agree with the many comments on keeping the water simple in this case. Perhaps the water line could be a touch higher but then we would lose some of that lovely sky.

Thanks for taking a look Stephen,I think you may be correct about the water line needing to be a bit higher, but it's always seems to be about making decisions quite quickly when painting watercolours and living with the outcome either way in the end, anyway thanks for the kind comments which are much appreciated.

Was concentrating more on the hills and light in this painting rather than the water, and probably should have paid more attention to the water in the foreground, but this is another from the archives , but thought I would post it anyway.
