Loch Portree and Black Cuillins

Loch Portree and Black Cuillins

Lovely sense of the early morning sun rising over the hills. The black Cuillins look majestic, as they are, and the waters of the loch have that dark mysterious look that is so typical of Scotland. Very atmospheric painting which describes that part of the world so well.

For me Graham this one is out of this world --So well rendered-- beautiful sky-----49 YEARS ogo since I was in Cuillins - climbing holiday got there on motor bikes {BSA -650-GOLD FLASH }-- Brings back old memories. My mates bike broke down just before we got to the ferry I and another fellow had to go go back to Glasgow for spares -what a job---Thanks for the memories Graham

Great one Graham - apart from the handling of the middle and far distance you have also succeded with a great rendition of the boat - from experience I know how difficult they boats can be to get right.

Thanks Thea, Charles and Michael for youir kind remarks which are always appreciated, glad that this re-kindled some happy memories for you Charles of the Cuillins and Skye and yes as you say Michael rendering boats can be difficult to get just correct otherwise painting never works even if the rest is well painted, As I said this particular boat was a bit of licence on my part and I took it from one of my sketch books which I used in Crail east neuk, fife.

Graham, this is again a beauty!!! Can't you contact an editor and publish a book? Your work really deserves this! It is a pleasure to watch!

Thanks Mia,appreciate your comments, as always.

Such a tranquil early morning sky along with the distant Cuillins of the Isle of Skye that I thought made a nice landscape scene for a painting, the boat was a bit of artistic licence on my part once again
