A lovely painting, my eyes are automaticaly drawn to the back ground, beautiful greens to.

I like the scene overall and it's very peaceful. I think you managed the greens quite well; and they give trouble at times. To make the flowerd stand out, paint them pink, or maybe even white. No one can say you are wrong, because I'm sure they do have pink and white flowers in Switzerland. That's why I love art and painting. We don't always HAVE to paint exactly what we see. I would paint the more distant firs a lighter tone than the foreground firs. You can easiliy paint over with acrylics of course, so no need to start again. It's a nice job overall. So congrats from me. Regards John

You have a nice gallery overall Gary.. And please excuse my typos! her and ther! regards John

Good painting to walk into. Must admit I looked for red flowere and could not even find them. Green and red similar in tone, so small amounts of red will probably just vanish.. make them bigger , change the tonal value of the green around them, either by making it darker with blues or lighter with yellow. It is almost like being colour blind the two colours have merged. My husband cannot see blue/red/greens unless he is standing right in front of them. The mountains are lovely.

Thanks for your kind comments John, Karleen and Sylvia. As for your typos John, I suspect that like me you can both spell and type but not both at the same time!

Acrylic on Canvas Board 16"x20". This is based on a photo taken by my brother during his holiday in Switzerland earlier this year. I liked the distant mountains contrasted against the foreground trees so I had to have a go at capturing the scene. I'm not totally happy with the result, the red flowers in the grass don't really stand out and I don't think I quite have the fir trees right.
