Thanks Diana, glad you agree about the detail, Jenny I’ve found that variations on this blue/green colour when painting a plain background goes really well with most skin tones.

Excellent work, Frank. The backdrop really makes the portrait pop and the brushwork is lovely.

This is a fabulous portrait. Sometimes details can get in the way of the essence of the person. Excellent

Over on Facebook, Lisa gave us a challenge to paint her Dad from a dodgy photo. I couldn’t go into much detail, though I don’t think it needs it, and there was a great big mug on the table in front of him. Gouache in my sketchbook 6x6in.
