Lovely image.

Excellent daffs and really well painted.

This has worked really well. Great composition.

Great painting Frank.

Lovely image, and yes, i agree about smooth paper. I use them a lot when life drawing, and use cheap smooth paper, and HP watercolour paper, gessoed mountboard works too if you sand it down slightly.

Wonderful colour and a good tip about the paper. Excellent work Frank.

It's fabulous!

This is so full sunshine and so uplifting Frank. Thanks for the tip on oil pastels, which I love to use. Have been using gessoes canvas boards but the tooth of the canvas can still be a problem so will take up your advice.

Lovely bright painting.

Lovely composition and cheerful colours, Frank.

So bright and cheerful, a painting of sunshine.

Thanks everyone for commenting, Thalia, I can see why oil pastels on smooth paper would be good for life drawing, as you would be able to get coverage easily

Vibrant and appealing.

Bold and dazzling subject Frank, like the close up format.

Absolutely fabulous. ..the medium is perfect for the subject😊

I only use oil pastels occasionally and with this one, made a discovery - they work really well on smooth paper. For so long I have thought that paper with a tooth was needed for this medium. What's more is that coverage is better too. This done with Neopastel on smooth layout paper 50gsm, 6x6in.
