Jane, this is absolutely stunning! It's amazing how you achieved so much depth and layers with such a limited palette. I think your oils are really spectacular!

I agree with that - it's worked well: don't know if this would interest you, but if you look up Roger Bansemer, a US artist, he has a blog (well worth joining as a follower) in which he talks about painting with a very limited palette.

Hi Jane. I think I may have confused the issue re web sites in the comments on my last few postings. There are in fact two sites. One is thepaintinganddrawingchannel.co.uk having about eleven, half-hour demos, that, of course you can view any time you like, as many times as you like. They are also shown on Sky channel 195 at 4pm and at 4.30pm. The other site is tombrownfineart.blogspot.com. He is a painter and teacher in the impressionist style in California. On his web sites he records his daily work and these archived back to late 2006. This archive is an enormous amount of reference material, ideas, demos etc. Hope this helps. Love your work by the way! Beautiful port folios. Kindest regards.

Excellent, effective mono Jane, had a quick look through your PF, excellent stuff

Thanks for your kind feedback Jane. Apologies if I'm less then assiduous in returning it (I only tend to see the watercolours!). Your skies and 'scapes are glorious.

Love this one as well - it's almost abstract - very dramatic

Looking down over Kenmare Bay from the top of a mountain near our home; I had intended to paint this in softer tones but somehow it turned out like this - purple!
